Abdul Hai Khan, a seasoned practitioner of microfinance and social business, has been serving as Managing Director of Grameen Trust (GT) since January 1, 2017. His distinguished career began at Grameen Bank as a Branch Manager, where he progressed through various leadership positions including Program Officer, Area Manager, Assistant General Manager, and Deputy General Manager, ultimately serving as Zonal Manager supervising all branches, area offices, and more than 1000 staff within his respective zone. Mr. Khan brings extensive international experience to his role, having served as CEO of Kosovo Grameen Missione Arcobaleno Microcredit Fund (KGMAMF) in Kosovo from 2003-2005 and General Manager of Family Bank in Bahrain from 2009-2011, demonstrating his expertise in implementing the Grameen Bank Approach (GBA) across diverse global contexts. His leadership extends to conducting numerous international training programs on microcredit and social business across different countries, as well as performing monitoring and evaluation visits to microcredit projects operated, owned, and managed by GT worldwide. His commitment to expanding microfinance reach is further evidenced by his conduct of a fact-finding mission in Nepal in 2013, exploring opportunities for replication programs. Currently serving as Trustee of Grameen Telecom Trust, Mr. Khan continues to contribute his wealth of experience in microfinance operations, international program development, and social business implementation to advance the mission of providing telecommunications and technology services for social and economic development across Bangladesh and beyond.
