Tasmina Rahman, a distinguished practitioner of microfinance and social business, has been serving as Managing Director of Grameen Trust (GT) since January 1, 2023, bringing nearly three decades of experience with the organization since joining in 1994. Under her leadership and throughout her tenure, GT has successfully facilitated the implementation of more than 154 Grameen Replication Programs across 43 countries and provided equity support to approximately 43,000 new entrepreneurs by June 30, 2023. Her extensive career has afforded her the unique opportunity to work closely with Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus at various levels within Grameen Trust, gaining invaluable insights into the Grameen Bank Approach (GBA) and its global applications. Ms. Rahman possesses comprehensive experience in GT's worldwide replication programs, having participated in numerous workshops and training programs on microcredit and social business across different countries, while also conducting monitoring and evaluation visits to microcredit projects operated and managed by GT globally. Her international expertise is further demonstrated through her service as a board member of various microfinance organizations and social business entities spanning multiple continents, including Bangladesh, China, France, Italy, Yemen, and the USA. Currently serving as Trustee of Grameen Telecom Trust, Ms. Rahman continues to leverage her deep understanding of microfinance operations, international program development, and social business implementation to advance telecommunications and technology initiatives that support economic empowerment and social development both locally and internationally.
