Retreat 2018 was held on 16 February, 2018 at Grameen Telecom Trust’s Purbachal Project – “Nishorgo” organized by Grameen Telecom Trust, Grameen Telecom, Grameen Distribution Limited and Grameen Shamogree. The Honorable Chairman Nobel Laureate Prof. Mohammad Yunus graced the program along with his family members. The daylong event was inaugurated by Nobel Laureate Prof. Mohammad Yunus.

Opening remarks were given by Ms. Parveen Mahmud, Managing Director, Grameen Telecom Trust and Mr. Ashraful Hassan, Managing Director, Grameen Telecom, Grameen Distribution Ltd. & Grameen Shamogree.

Mr. Professor H.I. Latifee, Trustee & Vice Chairman, Board of Trustee of Grameen Telecom Trust, Mr. Abdul Hai Khan, Managing Director,Grameen Trust, Ms. Saleha Begum, Managing Director, Grameen Shakti Samajik Byabosha Ltd., Ms. Nazneen Sultana, Managing Director, Grameen Communications, Mr. Mohammed Ahsan Ullah, Managing Director, Grameen Capital Management Ltd., Mr. Kishwar Imdad, Acting Managing Director, Grameen Health Care Services Ltd., Mr. Ratan Kumar Nag, Acting Managing Director, Grameen Bank, Ms. Lamiya Morshed, Executive Director, Yunus Centre were also participated in the event.

Prof. Muhammad Yunus also inaugurated the “Mixed Office”, a two storied building in the premises, comprised with restrooms, dining hall, conference hall and office room. Afterwards, he visited the whole venue with the other board members of Grameen Family.

It was a fun filled event with the organizations’ employees and their families. There were eleven hundred and nine (1109) participants. The event was designed with lot of activities such as fortune teller, balloon-shooting, horse-cart riding, football and cricket match among the companies, cultural program and raffle draw. Prof. Yunus along with his family and other board members have participated in almost every fun activities.

The cultural program included singing, dancing and a fashion show with Grameen Check dresses where Prof. Muhammad Yunus, Ms. Parveen Mahmud, and Mr. Ashraful Hasan participated in the ramp. The main attraction of the cultural program was the Raffle Draw where the first prize was Dhaka-Katmandu-Dhaka Couple Air Ticket and the second prize was Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka Couple Air Ticket. The program ended with prize giving ceremony and gifts distribution.
