Background


Grameen Telecom Trust started it's joint venture with SKS Foundation in June 2013.

The social business project called “SKS Social Business” is aimed to generate income for the ultra poor in the district of Gaibandha.

In the beginning the project started with sheep rearing, where the project faced many hurdles due to the prevalence of prolonged flood in Gaibandha for 3 months. The project then diversified to ‘SKS Livestock Social Business’ which aims to provide healthier and organic beef to the market. By the help of this project many cows are being distributed to village households.
