Visitors from S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJMIR)

A 20-member delegation from S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJMIR), Mumbai, India visited Grameen Telecom Trust (GTT) corporate office at Dhaka, Bangladesh on July 31, 2018 to learn about the Social Business (SB) operated by GTT. The visit was organized by Yunus Center under its immersion program.
Mr. Jayanta Kumer Bosu, the Team Leader (AGM) of Social Business (SB) Department of GTT along with Mr. Abu Nayeem, Manager, SB conducted a presentation to the delegation explaining how GTT works in the field of Social Business, how GTT grew its social business programs like New Entrepreneur (Nobin Udyokta or NU) and Social Business Learning and Innovation Fund (SBLIF). Both the presenters replied to a number of questions regarding the success and challenges faced by GTT to implement NU program, the scale of operation etc. The event ended with signing on visitors’ book and a photo session.

The 20 members of the delegation are doing their professional courses on management in SPJMIR. (Aditya Birla Group); Mr. Siba Sankar Mahapatra, Utkal Alumina International Ltd. (Aditya Birla Group); Mr. Debasis Nayak, Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Aditya Birla Group); Mr. Vinayak Ramdas Tanksale, Quality Education Support Trust (QUEST); Ms. Vandana Saini, Vaani deaf children foundation; Ms. Malkawa Bomidi, Seed Foundation; Ms. Poornima Anand Menon, Sri Chaitanya Seva Trust; Ms. Nivedita Narendranath, Mishra Gunvanti J. Kapoor Foundation; Ms. Archana Mittal, Armman and Mr. Nilesh Suresh Pawar, Desh Bandhu & Manju Gupta Foundation, Dhule.
On the occasion Mehdi Imam, Deputy Manager and Ms. Aditi Kabir, Assistant Manager of Social Business Department and Ms. Nusrat Jahan Alam, Assistant Officer, Finance & Accounts and Management Information System were also present from GTT.
