Grameen Telecom Trust (GTT) participated in the 375th Social Business Design Lab (open session) on 20 October, 2016 chaired by Nobel Laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus held at Grameen Bank Auditorium. The program commenced with a short video on Nobin Udyokta (NU) Program of GTT. Two business proposals of GTT were presented at the Design Lab, one under NU program and one under Social Business Learning and Innovation Fund (SBLIF).

Nobin Udyokta-NU (New Entrepreneur), Ms. Kohinur Begum presented her clothing and laundry business at the 375th Social Business Design Lab, (148th NU batch of GTT). She is the first female NU of GTT who runs a laundry business along with tailoring. Mr. Biplob Chakma (Executive Director, ASHIKA) presented a joint venture social business project between ASHIKA and GTT under SBLIF, named “Shuvolong”, aimed at providing safe drinking water in the hill tracts, Rangamati. Both the projects were approved by the house at the end of the event.

The Design Lab ended with concluding remarks from the Nobel Laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus. It was organized by Yunus Centre, with one-sixty (160) national and international participants and a total of six business proposals that were presented at the event.
