Today the Nobin Udyokta Program of Grameen Telecom Trust (GTT) has embarked into another milestone of success by crossing Two-Hundred (200) In-House Social Business Executive Design Labs on Sunday, 13 August 2017. The 200th in-house Design lab was held at the Social Business Learning Centre of GTT with Forty-Three (43) NUs presenting their business proposals and chaired by Ms. Jannat-E-Quanine (Former General Manager, Grameen Bank). All the business proposals were approved today. With this GTT has crossed more than Six Thousand and Eight (6800) NUs and creating more than Thirteen Thousand (13000) jobs in the economy of Bangladesh. Among these 6800 NUs Ninety Six (96) are female, One Hundred and Fifty-Six (156) are students and Four (4) are physically challenged.
Nobin Udyokta-NU (New Entrepreneur) Program: It is social business program pioneered by GTT to support the next generation of entrepreneurs through equity participation. Inspired from the concept of Nobel Laureate Prof. Mohammad Yunus, “We are not job seekers; we are job givers”, NU program aims to turn youth unemployment into entrepreneurship.
Design Lab: It is one of the stages of implementing the NUP. It is an open question answer session between the NU and the panelists, where the Nobin Udyoktas present their investment proposals and share their business background. Through Design Labs the investment proposals gets accepted and the journey of a NU with GTT begins.
